Black Ice Causes 30-Car Pile-Up, Two Killed

More than thirty cars collided due to icy road conditions on I-95 in Bucks County, Pa., early Sunday morning.
The accident happened inbetween Street Road and Route four hundred thirteen at about Trio:Ten a.m. EDT, according to abclocal.go.com. The chain-reaction accident caused a vehicle to leave the roadway on I-95 and crash onto the roadway of the Pennsylvania Turnpike below.
Accidents occurred in both lanes of I-95 near exit 40. They embarked just past Cottman Avenue. Police reported the the roads were a sheet of ice at the time of the accident.
Bridges, elevated roadways and ramps freeze before other kinds of roads. The cold air can pass under the road surface which brings the temperature down more rapidly.
At least two people were killed and numerous injuries were reported. Emergency workers closed I-95 for about four hours. The highway has since reopened.
